'Nowhere Fast'는 1984년 6월 1일에 개봉한 '월터 힐 (Walter Hill)' 감독, 마이클 파레 (Michael Pare)', '다이안 레인 (Diane Lane)' 주연의 록 뮤지컬 영화인 '스트리트 오브 화이어 (Streets of Fire)' OST 수록곡입니다.
'Nowhere Fast'는 미국의 싱어송라이터이자, 작곡가, 음반 제작자인 '짐 스타인먼 (Jim Steinman)'이 작사, 작곡한 곡으로, '짐 스타인먼'은 '에어 서플라이 (Air Supply)'의 'Making Love Out of Nothing at All'과 '보니 타일러 (Bonnie Tyler)'의 'Total Eclipse of the Heart'를 작곡한 작곡가로서도 유명합니다.
'Nowhere Fast'는 영화에서는 주연배우인 '다이안 레인'이 직접 부르는 거로 나오지만, 실제 부른 가수는 '홀리 셔우드(Holly Sherwood)'와 '로리 도드 (Rory Dodd)'로 '홀리 셔우드'와 '로리 도드'는 '짐 스타인먼'이 만든 노래에서 주로 메인 가수의 백킹 보컬과 듀엣 보컬로 활동을 많이 한 가수들로 특히 '보니 타일러'와' 미국의 가수이자 배우인 '미트 로프 (Meat Loaf)'의 백킹 보컬과 듀엣 보컬로 유명합니다.
'Fire Inc'는 영화를 위해 결성된 프로젝트 그룹으로 영화 '스트리트 오브 파이어'는 미국과 캐나다에서는 흥행에 실패를 하였지만, 한국과 일본에서는 엄청난 인기를 얻으며 흥행에 성공한 영화로 수록곡들 중 'Nowhere Fast'는 국내에서 크게 인기를 얻은 곡입니다.
